- A CRM

A CRM is critical for staying organized when it comes to keeping track of customers and sales. By utilizing a CRM, you can set activities to follow up with new leads, send proposals, and keep detailed notes on customers. Never forget an important phone call again. Some of our favorite CRM’s are Salesforce, Pipedrive, and Zoho.
2. AirmapNow that you’ve closed a deal with the help of your CRM, it’s time for you to go fly the project! But first, you’ve got to be aware of the airspace. Airmap is an essential tool for the drone pilot out in the field. AirMap’s cutting-edge technology transforms airspace below 500 feet to provide accurate, reliable, and trustworthy low-altitude navigational data and communication tools to the drone industry. Airmap can be used through a browser or from your phone with the app.
3. Editing/Processing SoftwareYou’ve completed the flight and now need to get your media edited or data processed. Our favorite tool to edit images or video would be Adobe Creative Cloud which is a suite of software tools such as Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects. Some other effective tools for those on a low budget would be iMovie or Photos on your Mac. If you’re on the go, one of our favorite editing apps on the phone is Snapseed. Now if you’re needing to process the images collected for photogrammetry purposes, our favorites are Pix4D, Drone Deploy, and Skycatch. Pix4D is the most seasoned of these tools but is also power hungry. You’ll need a strong computer to use Pix4D whereas Drone Deploy and Skycatch process the data in the cloud.
4. Cloud StorageIt’s time to share your completed work with your customer. The easiest way to do this is by utilizing cloud storage. Most of these services start out as free accounts with limited storage space but it’s relatively cheap to add space. Some of our favorites are Google Drive, Dropbox, and One Drive.
5. AccountingWhen tax season comes, you want to be as organized as possible. The best way to do this is Quickbooks Online. Quickbooks allows you to keep track of all of your financial/accounting documentation. This is critical to any business. Quickbooks Online allows you to quickly create invoices to send out to customers for them to get you paid. At the end of the year, you’ll be able to print reports for your accountant or sync your account directly to 3rd party tax software.
